Eddie Murray- some of the most popular and appealing bats in the hobby. Murray bats with tape rings around the handle and large, highlighted "33" on the knobs will sell for a premium. Fun fact, Eddie was breaking so many bats early in his career that a LVS rep suggested he try swinging a bigger, heavier bat to help stay back on the ball. Murray went to a heavier bat and never looked back, he was no longer hitting everything off the end of the bat and snapping the handles. Murray would line up his knuckles on the handle and tape rings where his knuckles were for a better grip. The highlighted #33 on the knobs often times coincided with his team colors.
Ideal Gamer: LVS or Rawlings w/ Tape Rings, in particular, Orioles era or HR/Hit inscribed.
Difficulty Level: 2 Quality Gamer: 3 Ideal Gamer: 4.5
Popularity/Demand: 5. When you combine 3,000 hits, 500 home runs, WS champion, HOF member with the character of his bats, there is not a bat collector around who does not want to add a quality Murray.
That Cooper at the end looks great! :)
